Friday Confessions

So, it has been one hot minute since I have blogged.  I am so excited to get back into the swing of things.  I look so forward to the summertime when I don't have to get up early and I have no real schedule.  However, having no schedule has hurt just a smidge.  Especially when it comes to blogging.

I am going to dive completely back into blogging the first week of August.  I will definitely do a few posts on our summer adventures. But first, who can resist a fun Friday confession??

I'm linking up with Leslie at A Blonde Ambition today to confess.  Let's get this party started…

1) I confess I am a sucker for all things representing the district I work in….when one of my students ask me to buy a t-shirt, sweatshirt, blanket, cookie dough, frozen pizzas, or anything else they're selling-I always buy it.  I can't say no.  In the most recent instance I bought a card including discounts for places to eat that I live nowhere near.  Crazy, right?

2) I confess I have been making chocolate chip cookies far too often.  I found the recipe here.  These are the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had.  However, I am not making anymore of just my husband and I.  We eat every single one of them.  One evening I got creative and put ice cream between two cookies and rolled it in chocolate chips to make an ice cream sandwich.  To.Die.For.

3) I confess summer break is coming to an end and I am kind of okay with that….as I mentioned before I work much better on a schedule.

4) I confess Greg and I are STILL addicted to The Good Wife.  I fell in love with Chris Noth during Sex and the City and I'm still in love.  I mean, who isn't obsessed with Matt Czuchry?

5) Speaking of more television, I confess I am SUPER excited for the finale of The Bachelorette Monday night.  I really wanted her to pick Chris.  Who didn't?  But with who is left, I hope she picks Josh…just sayin'.  I'm sure Andi will call and ask my opinion anytime! =)

What are y'alls plans for this weekend?  Have a great one!

One Year Anniversary {and counting…}

On May 25th, Greg and I were officially married for one year.  I love this man more than you could imagine.  To the moon and back, love.

To celebrate, here are a few pictures from our wedding and our honeymoon.

*My dad passed away when I was nine, so I carried a picture of him around my flowers.  I wanted him to help me walk down the aisle.  I LOVE this idea.

*Greg, his brother-Rick, and his best friend-Ferg (both of which were his groomsmen).

*Pre-wedding we were snapping some pictures in our hiding area.  Both girls have been such good friends to me for as far back as I can remember.  Of course our ring bearer, Elijah and flower girl, Ava were absolutely stunning.

 *Pre-wedding prayer for the service.

*We took one last picture while our guests finished arriving.  From the left is my best friend Jessica, my mother-in-law Pam, my best friend Gina, my sister-Becky, my Momma, my Granny, Ava as our flower girl, and Elijah as our ring bearer.

*All of my Momma's side of the family after the ceremony.

*We had a custom cake topper made.  I am SOOO thankful we did.  I love this as something fun to keep in our hutch.

 *Smore's bar….

 *Greg's Momma's side of the family…

*My sister (who is pictured here with her husband and newborn baby) actually married Greg and I.  I can't speak enough kind words about her, but I also love that she got to share in our wedding in such a special day.

I'll never forget our honeymoon.  We left for Maui the morning after we were married.  When we arrived, my momma and sister had planned a fun surprise for us.  They bought us tickets to a luau and a helicopter ride.  We were SO thankful and excited.  Greg and I had the best time….
*#1 place to eat in Maui is Ululani's Shaved Ice.  We went to the one in Lahaina one evening before dinner.  We kept wondering what was so awesome about shaved ice….until we tried it.  Oh my goodness…

 *Mama's Fish House…

 *Kimo's…the BEST pancakes I've ever had…

*Old Lahaina Luau...

Maui treated us very well.  We ate delicious food, drove the Road to Hana, had a helicopter tour, attended a Luau, hiked in a state park to beautiful waterfalls, met amazing people, and had the most relaxing time ever.  I'm ready to go back!

Friday Confessions {Link Up}

Happy Friday y'all! I am so excited it's the weekend to catch up on some much needed family time and the be outside for the beautiful weather that is forecasted.  I am a little behind on cleaning and de-cluttering, so I am excited to get a jump start on that this weekend, also.   Did I just say I'm excited to do chores? YIKES!

I'm linking up with Leslie at A Blonde Ambition for Friday confessions.  I missed the recipe link up last week, but all of the recipes look DELICIOUS!  As a new cook, I can appreciate a fun recipe.  Such a neat idea!

1) I confess….we have five days left of school.  I am so ready.  Last year at this time, we were already out and I am dying for summer break!

2) I confess….one of my "to do's" this weekend is to make a Derby Pie.  I'm using this recipe.  Is it Derby time? Nope.  But, I need it in my life.

3) I confess….I am in need of wanting a beach trip.  I have been drooling over cutesy bathing suits and clothes for a getaway.

4) I confess….I am slightly addicted to Devious Maids.  Does anyone else watch this craziness???

5) I confess….I've drank WAY too much caffeine this week.  I think I should work on giving up caffeine.  I'm beyond addicted!

Happy weekend!!

Weekend Wrap-up!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather and being able to hang out with Greg.  Weekends go by so fast and I love every second of the relaxation the weekend brings!

Our weekend really started on Thursday night.  Greg and I went to see Jake Owen.  Eli Young Band and the The Cadillac Three were his opening acts.  I'm a BIG fan of Jake Owen but I left the concert an even bigger fan.  Y'all, he is REALLY good looking in person.  Shew!

Friday night, my friend Jessica stayed with us.  She cooked a delicious dinner for Greg and I which was SUCH a treat!  Afterwards, we had to run an errand so we treated ourselves to fro-yo.  We wanted to relax so we came back to jump in the hot tub and watched part of a movie.

Saturday morning, Jessica and I went to set up at Relay for Life.  If you do not live locally, Relay for Life helps to raise money for cancer awareness and research.  Afterwards, I cleaned up the house and got ready to go on a  dinner date with Greg.  We stopped back by Relay for Life to visit a tent my mom's office set up.  The games, raffles, and food were outstanding!

Sunday was pretty low key.  I spent time with my Granny shopping and had an opportunity to work in my flowers. =)

What did y'all do this weekend??

Friday Confessions {Link Up}

Happy Friday! Today I am linking up with Leslie to confess on this wonderful start to the weekend!

1) I confess…we only have 16 school days left! Woohoo! But, who's counting?? =)

2) I confess…I have been looking for a fun summer vacation to mix with our first wedding anniversary.  Do y'all know of any good beach vacation spots? Right now we are open to anywhere…

3) I confess…I planted TONS of flowers and vegetables this week.  This reminds me of my Grandma and Grandpa and brings back such fun memories of them!  Now keep your fingers crossed the plants actually grow.  I'll post some pictures of them next week.

4) I confess…I am a bit excited the heat wave left.  I love the warm weather but I need to get acclimated to it being above 40 degrees first!

5) I confess…we went to the Jake Owen concert last night and I drooled loved his concert!

Have a great weekend! Xoxo

Mother's Day Weekend

This weekend was a whirlwind.  But aren't they always???

Friday evening Greg and I were on the hunt for a new vacuum.  Exciting stuff, huh?  We were both pretty tired from the work week and after we went shopping we had a low key dinner and caught up on DVR.  We are REALLY behind.

Saturday we worked quite a bit outside.  We finished opening our pool, worked in flowers, trimmed the bushes, rearranged our back patio, and pulled a ton of weeds from our flower beds.  Saturday evening we met my family for dinner.  One of my cousins plays baseball and we were celebrating his win and enjoying time with some of our out of town family. As we were leaving, we saw this double rainbow from the storm.  Isn't it beautiful?

On Sunday, Greg and I hosted a Mother's Day lunch.  We were so excited to have everyone over.  We grilled out and ate outside in our front yard.  We are all kind of tired of being in the house and the weather was too pretty to eat inside.  I found this foot scrub on Pinterest that I made for the ladies.  Who doesn't love a good foot scrub?

We also celebrated my birthday during the Mother's day lunch (which was a total surprise to me).  My birthday is really today but it was nice to be able to celebrate with our family.

After the birthday celebration, all of the kids were swimming in the pool to stay cool and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.  I am so thankful to have such a caring group of ladies in my life.

Sunday evening, Greg and I went to see "The Neighbors." We thought it was hilarious!  I would recommend it to anyone needing a good laugh.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!
