{Tuesday} Tuneups

One of my focuses this week is my closet.  I'm working on getting rid of some clothes and accessories that I haven't wore in awhile.  Naturally, as I get rid of things, I look forward to adding new pieces to tuneup my wardrobe.  I love checking out Piperlime because they have such a great variety!  Here's what I'm thinking...

Weekend Wrapup!

Well, it's officially Monday.  The weekend is over and back to the work grind we go!  This weekend was productive and relaxing….

Friday after work I went on a nice run and came home to catch up on laundry, clean, and pack up my car for Saturday.

On Saturday morning, my mom and I went to a campground owned by our church.  This area is one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. We went to prep the cabin for painting (which will be done this Saturday).  We washed EVERYTHING.  Windows, both porches, bunk beds, and the walls.  The cabin doesn't have direct water access, so we walked to the lodge each time we needed a clean bucket of water.  Since we spent the majority of the day traveling and cleaning, we were exhausted!  Here are some of our pictures…

Saturday evening was my little cousins prom.  We went to watch her go in and I took a few pictures but none of them turned out as pretty as the one she sent us.  How stunning is she?

On Sunday, we worked in our backyard until Greg had to go to work.  Once he left, I went junking antiquing with my family.  We had the best time!  How cute is this store?

Sunday evening I found a few new recipes I wanted to try.  One was Skinnytaste's Greek Nachos and the other was Kale Chips.  The Kale Chips recipe is from Kourtney Kardashian.  Before you completely judge that statement, try it.  Totally delicious!  There is a bit of an after taste, but other than that you would think it was a potato chip!

I hope each one of you had a wonderful and blessed weekend.  What did y'all get into??

1// I confess…I am planning a yard sale.  Is that redneck? I don't care.  We have SO much stuff we need to get rid of.

2// I confess..We have 31 days of school left after today and I am holding my breath counting down the days!

3// I confess…I'm on the lookout for some cute white skinny jeans.  So far, I'm checking these out…

Have y'all seen any cute ones?

4// I am watching endless videos of hair tutorials on The Small Things Blog.  My sister re-introduced me to this website and I'm looking forward to trying out some of her hair ideas!

Cheers to the weekend! Y'all have a great one!

Weekend Wrap Up

What a weekend!  I feel like I blinked and it's gone.  We had so much to celebrate this weekend.  Of course Easter, Greg's birthday was on Saturday, and my little cousin's first baseball game of the season. We had such a fun few days!

Friday night my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came in town.  We had a cook-out and had THE most delicious food.  I should've taken more pictures.  One of my favorites was grilled pineapple.  I've never had it before but I'm already dreaming of the next time I can eat it!

Saturday morning my sister, my mom, and I took some sweet pictures of my nephew at the park.  The park is perfect for Easter pictures because of the dandelions.  Henry wasn't too into the pictures but we did get some sweet shots!

Saturday afternoon my sister and I went and got an absolutely wonderful pedicure.   For anyone locally who reads this, Nail Pro in Russell gives an awesome pedicure.

Afterwards, we went to see Elijah's baseball game.  The league he plays in doesn't keep score so I can't say for certain who won. However, Elijah did a stellar job.  This is him batting…

After the game, my family came over to our house to celebrate Greg's birthday.  We are so blessed with the best family.  I hope I never under appreciate everything they do for us.

On a side note, Greg's favorite cake is ice cream cake.  In addition, his two favorite sweets are peanut butter and chocolate.  I found a recipe for a peanut butter and oreo ice cream cake.  When the candles were lit and we were singing, I set the fire alarm off.  Go figure! =)  By the time he got to blow his candles out, there were no candles left that were lit.

Saturday evening we went to one of our favorite restaurants.  We had great company and delicious food!

Sunday morning we had a wonderful Easter service.  Our church service was so uplifting and the music was beautiful!  We went to my Granny's afterwards for lunch.  We eat the same thing for Easter almost every year and I always look forward to the delicious meal!

Sunday evening we went to a tasting for a new frozen yogurt place. 7 Below Zero will be opening this week.  Greg and I are appreciative of the invite!

Y'all, I have to admit…I am SO proud of our men's basketball team.  Winners or losers, I am always proud to be a Wildcat!

Kudos to this guy who hasn't been able to play many games in the tournament..

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was so relaxing.  After spending most of the week in Vegas (which I'll post about later this week), a relaxing weekend is exactly what was needed!

Friday evening I went on a nice run.  This is a picture of our local park.  It's so pretty this time of year so I felt like I should share.

My aunt was in town so I went to visit with her and my Granny.  Afterwards I came home and did TONS of laundry.  After being out of town, you know how it is.  I also felt like our house was in need of a major cleaning.  So I went for it.  There isn't an inch of our house that wasn't cleaned!

Saturday I slept in.  Not a little bit.  I slept until 10!  I think my schedule is still messed up from Vegas time.  I had a nice run at the park because the weather was absolutely gorgeous!  Went to lunch with my husband, ran errands, set up flowers for my dad and papa's grave, and watched the Cats beat the Badgers.  Did y'all see this game??? Shew!  Talk about not knowing what was going to happen until the last seconds...

Sunday I went to church and we had such a wonderful church service.  Afterwards I ate lunch with my family then headed to the mall with one of my best friends.  (On a side note, I bought some new throw pillows for our front porch.  I am getting ready to "revamp" the style of our porch.  I'll blog about it when it's complete!)  When I got home from the mall, my sweet little cousin-Abbie, helped me weed out a few of our flower beds.  I have been hoping and praying my peony bush would come up this year.  What do y'all think??

And how cute is this picture of Abbie trying to "save" a few worms?

We dug up SO many weeds!  We worked up a hefty appetite while we worked.  So, we made dinner and had a fun evening catching up.  After our company left, we relaxed by a fire in our back yard.  Of course I enjoyed a s'more. =) I could eat a thousand of them!

Y'all have a great week!

Friday's Confession's {Link Up}

Today I am linking up with A Blonde Ambition for Friday's Confessions!

1) I confess I am MORE than excited for this Spring weather.  I couldn't handle another snow.  If it would've snowed again I probably would've put myself in a box and shipped myself somewhere warm!  Our ten day forecast changed from a lot of rain to a lot of sunshine! Woo!

2) I confess I've been off of work all week because I was out of town.  I have missed my students and I'm excited to get back to work today!  (Weird how you are so excited to go on vacation but look forward to getting back into a routine…right?)

3) I confess I've been looking for a cute Easter dress.  I saw one a few months ago that was a florally print and can't find it anywhere.

4) I confess I am SOOO pumped to cheer for the Wildcats!  When I'm watching them play I feel like I might have a heart attack every.single.time.  Go CATS!!

5) I confess I am obsessing over looking forward to watching Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton host the ACM Awards.

6) I confess I am SUPER excited to jump back into blogging.  Let's get this party started!

Y'all have a great weekend!
