Motivational Monday

We all can admit it.  Monday's are pretty rough.  The weekend has come to an end and the work week has started.

I am the worst about Monday's.  I savor every second of the weekend.  I enjoy getting some much needed rest, date nights with my husband and friends, lounging around in my sweats, having time to shop, and catching up on tasks I didn't necessarily have time for throughout the week.
I get in ruts throughout the week.  Working, working out, dinner, and my favorite shows.  I feel it is very hard to "live in the moment" with this set up.  I am challenging you, along with myself, to live in the moment more.  What do I mean by this?  I'll give you a few examples.

1) Do you live in a neighborhood where there are many dogs? Bake the dogs some homemade treats and chat with them. This website has TONS of fun recipes: http://www.brit.co/homemade-dog-treats/

2) Bake some fun treats for your workplace.  I made these for my husband's work yesterday.

I used the recipe from Picky Palate found here: http://picky-palate.com/2011/01/06/oreo-stuffed-chocolate-chip-cookies/.  Hers turned out MUCH better looking than mine.  However, my husband works with mostly men and thankfully they aren't worried about cookie presentation.  =)

3) Have you been putting off cleaning something out?  Clean it out! It will make you feel so refreshed.  I cleaned out our kitchen cabinets over Christmas break.  Even though I am the only one who will notice, I can find items much easier.  I am going to tackle our hallway closet next!

4) Do you have friends you haven't talked to in awhile that you need to touch base with?  Get in contact with them!

5) Try a new workout.  I love to run.  However, tonight I tried an abs and cycling class.  With my friends in tow, we had a great time!

Do you have ideas to get out of a rut? I would love to hear about it! Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

  1. I agree with you on all of these points...especially putting off cleaning something out. ;) I do feel better now that some of my kitchen clutter is gone. There is still much to be done though!!
